Our Path Towards a More Sustainable Future

Amidst towering evergreens and flowing rivers in the heart of the Pacific Northwest, Charl was born from a simple yet deep realisation: our earth needed us just as much as we needed it. In 2015, a band of eco-conscious individuals set out with a singular goal in mind: to plant trees and decrease plastic waste by recycling water bottles made of stainless steel.

Our adventure started while we were trekking in the Cascade Mountains and saw the disturbing image of plastic trash ruining the beautiful scenery. A chord was struck by the stark contrast between the pristine natural beauty and the invasive plastic pollution. It occurred to us, "What if we could create a ripple effect of positive change through a simple, everyday action like choosing a sustainable water bottle?"

We came back with a fresh sense of purpose, fueled by this goal. Our living rooms served as our initial studios, where ideas and sketches tumbled freely, much like the rivers we fought to preserve. We poured our hearts and souls into our study, hell-bent on creating an eco-friendly water bottle that will last our intrepid explorers through any excursion.

This is how the first Charl stainless steel water bottle came to be—a modern, reusable bottle that would survive any journey. This high-grade stainless steel container served as our response to single-use plastic water bottles by providing an eco-friendly option without sacrificing form or function.

Yet our journey did not end there. Beyond only decreasing plastic waste, we aimed to make a lasting impression. We launched our "One Bottle, One Tree" initiative because we care deeply about the environment and its trees. We vowed to work with reforestation groups across the world to plant a tree for every bottle of Charl that was sold. Beyond a simple promise, this endeavour represented our means of returning some of the bounty bestowed upon us by Mother Earth.

We could never have imagined how much Charl has developed today. The fact that our bottles are being carried by hikers, commuters, and families demonstrates the strength of unity. By working together, we have restored once-deforested areas by planting thousands of trees.

But deep down, we're still motivated by the same fire that set us out on our journey into the Cascades. Community, sustainability, and the wonders of our world are principles in which we wholeheartedly believe. We are committed to a more environmentally friendly and sustainable future, and we are getting closer with every bottle and tree we plant.
